It's getting hot in herre

We went to Fatz Cafe today for Laura's birthday and then went to grandmama and granddaddy's house to eat cake.
I went to the grocery store when we got home so I could buy some healthy-ish food to eat. I've gone waaaay off track (Fatz and cake), so Don and I have decided to go on a diet "together" and see who can lose the most weight between now and his visit in August. If he loses the most, I've agreed to buy him a video game. If I lose the most, he's going to buy me a new pair of shoes. Thinking about it, I should have asked for something better than a pair of shoes but I do love shoes! Prepare to be beaten, Don! I hope I'll lose more than him because I have more to lose, but I've always heard that it's easier for men to lose weight than it is for women. I have to bring it on and it will be broughten.
My final exams are coming up! Math exam on May 1st, Anthropology exam on the 6th, and then I have two weeks off from school before my summer classes start. Yippee!
I'm going to Charlotte on Tuesday night to see Sara Bareilles and Rachael Yamagata in concert.

Okay, I know I said I'd leave This One Person alone for the rest of the month but I have to share this. First, a little back-story:
Person an audible voice of a man that theybelieve is God. They told me one day that God specifically told them to go to Hardees and get a chicken biscuit for breakfast, because that's the kind of important stuff that God worries about.
Now, today's story:
I received a text message from another person during my Anthropology class this morning that said, "So based on conversations I have heard this morning, This One Person hears the devil talking to them too."
I chuckled and then forwarded his message to Don.
Don replied, "Well now we know what gluttonous pig told them to get a chicken biscuit!"

Another Paula rant, and other things
Have I ever mentioned that This One Person is the reason why I don't wear purple? If not, I am saying it now: This One Person is the reason why I never wear purple. I actually like purple and wouldn't mind wearing it, but purple is This One Person's favorite color. I don't wear purple because I know that if they see it they will make a comment about it and annoy me. I can't decide if they're accidentally annoying or if it's on purpose.
I'm not going to talk about This One Person anymore this month.
I need a new nose ring.
I don't understand the point of having a belt that goes around your midsection instead of your waist. The last thing that I want to do is draw attention to my belly. Some of the tops are cute, but there's no way one would look right on me.
I'm looking through Torrid's clearance section and I've noticed that one of their models keeps posing the same exact way in every picture. She would so not make it on America's Next Top Model. Jay Manuel would not be happy with her.
I have such important things to say. I'm going to bed now!

I have killed.
I killed This One Person's rose twig by feeding it green tea, sweet tea and Sprite. I smile every time I "water" it.

I'm starting to think that This One Person thinks everyone around them is deaf. They're always raising their voice at people and recordings for no apparent reason. Maybe they're hard of hearing.

I can't wait until I'm done writing my Anthropology paper so I can start reading The Year of Living Biblically: One Man's Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible by AJ Jacobs. I've read about his first day as a literal Bibler and I think it's going to be a lot of fun!

You shall not steal.
I would like to announce that my This One Person, a self-proclaimed person of God and minister, stole a pack of Orbit Mint Mojito chewing gum from another person.

honeyhoney and Matt Nathanson and rude blondes...oh my!
I drove to Charlotte with my friend Benjie last night to see honeyhoney, Matt Nathanson and Lifehouse at Amos' Southend. We parked about a block away from the venue and got lost while walking there because I didn't realize how close we actually were so we walked about 2 blocks in the wrong direction. We asked a random guy for directions, I think he was stoned, he said something about a fat burrito (Phat Burrito, actually) and stop lights and, thanks to stoner boy, we found our way.
There were a LOT of people there by the time we got there. I was surprised because I thought we were getting there early. We would have been about 20 minutes earlier if we didn't get lost, but I don' t think that would have made much of a difference. We had to wait in line for ~30 minutes before they started letting people in.
Once we were inside, I headed toward the stage so I could get as close as I could without being rude and getting in the way of other folks. I have this thing where I don't like to shove and lie to get in front of people...I think it's called manners. More people at Amos' needed manners...anyway!
Honeyhoney was GREAT! They played a couple of songs that aren't on their EP and I'm kind of bummed that they aren't because they were great songs. The singer played the violin and the banjo, which was awesome. I had a good view of the stage at this point and was able to get some good pictures.
Matt Nathanson came on after honeyhoney and the rude blondes flocked to the stage...or tried to, at least.
Rude Blonde #1 forced her way in front of me, jabbed her elbows into my lady lumps more times than I could count, threw her hair in my face more times than she jabbed my ladies and she kept leaning back while dancing like she was the only person at the concert while we're all crammed together like sardines and threw her hair in my face and rubbed up on my ladies. She never said "excuse me" or "oh, I'm sorry!" for any of this. How do you not notice that you're jabbing someones boobs with your elbow? How do you not hear someone spitting your hair out of their mouth? How do you not realize that you are leaning up against someones boobs while they are spitting your hair out of their mouth?!
Rude Blonde #2 came through the crowd, boyfriend in tow, carrying two beers and claiming that she was trying to get to her friend to give them the beers. She was lying though, she just wanted to get closer to the stage and apparently this worked for her because she made her way up to me and the group of people Benjie and I had been mingling with. Her and her boyfriend stopped trying to get through for a few minutes and then decided that they wanted to get even closer, so they tried to work their way through another group of people and one of the girls ripped Rude Blonde #2 a new one and it was quite amusing.
Matt's set was good, I wish I could say he was awesome but that wouldn't be totally accurate. I don't know what it was; he sounded great, he played songs that I love, but something was lacking. Maybe he just wasn't feeling it last night and it showed. He's still my favorite guitar-wielding married man.
Lifehouse was okay. I'm not a huge fan; I only like a few of their songs so it wouldn't have bothered me to leave after Matt's set but Benjie was there for Lifehouse, so I had to stick around. The crowd loved them but I thought they were kind of dull. I don't like it when a band just starts playing and plays straight through without hardly speaking to the crowd. That's what I've loved about most of the shows that I've gone to; the musicians involve the audience and talk to them and I think it's a lot more fun like that because you get to see their personality.
Well, that was the show! It wasn't terrible but it wasn't my favorite.
